World trip with my Lord & God, to five continents, carrying one backpack, and only the route planned. I left in Jan 2007, wanting to see the world and have an adventure with Jesus, and returned 10 and 1/2 months later amazed at what I discovered.
The Lord used this song to awaken my heart to a desire I didn't know was in me:
To join him setting captives free.
The whole song contains powerful lyrics about who Jesus is, who we are as his creation and followers, and who our enemy is/what he's like. Back in 2006, my burnt-out heart leaped when I listened to the highlighted words below. It was months before I knew I was going on my trip, and it was the first time I knew I wanted to help Jesus set captives free.
Little did I know, he was on a mission to set me free.
"SISU"
By
the word and command, mortal man can stand, son of man is the manna manifest
In
the flesh and the blood, and the bones and the rocks, in the valley of the dead
The
dry bones are gonna walk and talk
To
the rhythm of the saints y’all, to the rhythm of the saints
And I
paint it red to remember the dead, who layed down their lives for the truth
And
the seed that is buried takes root, and this ignorant world will have proof
I
remember the sins of my youth, the path and the madness of unrestrained
pleasure
The
heavier trip it made the heavier debter
In
the deepest of dark without a wing or a feather,
The
spiral closed in like a cage, like a cage
A
maze that’s amazing for days turns to rage if the page it refuses to turn
And
the hopeless will hope the book burns
When
the lesson it returns, but the lesson is still unlearned
See I
yearn to discern if a life can be earned or is given as a gift to the dead
I
read and I bled and I fed to the full my soul on the sickest of sickness
Seeking
the light of a saviors witness, a way that one day that I might forget this
But slave
master wont permit this
Cause
I’m a hooker I’m his mistress
And
when I look for freedom he puts more chains on me
Strangles
my hope so that I live like a zombie
What
masters house can this be, that when I look for freedom he still deceives me
If there’s
a God I screamed, “Answer me!”
I
didn’t expect an answer to be received, He said
You
must die, to be set free, living in the kingdom of God eternally
Open
up my eyes so that I can see, and die with a cry revolutionary
Every
man and woman is a witness, and we will never forget this
Truth
[Satan is the slave master. He deceives and holds people captive, in full or in part. Like in the movie, Pinocchio, the boys didn't realize the puppet-master was cruel. They thought he loved giving them all they ever wanted: carnival, ice cream, fun. But the day came when they realized the true intent of this slave master, and then it was too late.
Thankfully, Pinocchio had a father, the one who created him, who came after him to set him free. It cost his father everything.
This reminds me of God. He sent His only begotten Son to Earth, to redeem his creation with the only plan in the Universe that would ever work.
In our distress, when we cry to the Lord, he hears us and rescues us. We must die to ourselves, by leaving the Slavemaster and his ways, and cross over to live with our Creator as a true son.
Read John's gospel in the Bible. He walked with Jesus. Then flip around to read some more and ask God to reveal His truth. All of God's word will come to pass. So it's important to read it, ask for understanding, believe, and keep it.]
Undiluted,
undisputed, never to be substituted, or uprooted, fully suited for the war
It’s
a modernization of a timeless metaphor, and
By
the boomerang we bring the beats back more
What
for man, do we work exterior to core, or begin it in the spirit of the Lord
Now
you could pull the chord, but the people still sing it acapella
Marching
to the beat I hear their feet are in the cellar
Fear
not the world cannot stop what must begin within you and me
A fire
wind, holy hymn, beautiful diadem, hidden within positively pure prism
refraction
Every
colors broken down, harmonize with my eyes spectrum
In
the end bleeding into the One, to the source, to the beautiful father of light
All
the pressure and pain, produces perseverance
It’s
purged by the flames, without interference
Produces
a hope, In the glory of God
My
God I am your son, and I know that you will finish the work that you’ve begun
Homespun,
grassroots, spontaneously suits the purpose, and we don’t deserve this
Life
He
said
You
must die to be set free, living in the kingdom of God eternally
Open
up my eyes so that I can see, and die with a cry revolutionary
Every
man and woman is a witness, and we will never forget this

Plumb - Song Lyrics - In My Arms (song at left on main blog page)
After returning from the trip, I heard this song and knew that these lyrics captured the essence of my journey. Storms may rage, but I was and will be safe in His arms. Forever, in Jesus, because he purchased my life from death.
"In My Arms"
Your baby blues So full of wonder Your curly cues Your contagious smile And as i watch You start to grow up All I can do is hold you tight
Knowing clouds will rage in Storms will race in But you will be safe in my arms Rains will pour down Waves will crash all around But you will be safe in my arms
Story books are full of fairy tales Of kings and queens and the bluest skies My heart is torn just in knowing You'll someday see the truth from lies
[I felt like my trip was a fairy tale, because the King of all kings, a title given to Jesus by the Heavenly Father, was my escort. He is the truth. Someday we'll see this with our eyes, and not just the eyes of our hearts. Read the Bible and ask God to reveal who Jesus is. Then believe & live with Him, now and into eternity.]
Knowing clouds will rage in Storms will race in But you will be safe in my arms Rains will pour down Waves will crash all around But you will be safe in my arms
Castles they might crumble Dreams may not come true But you are never all alone Because I will always Always love you
Clouds will rage in Storms will race in But you will be safe in my arms Rains will pour down Waves will crash all around But you will be safe in my arms
A daughter of our wonderful Heavenly Father. Adopted through faith in Jesus' surrender on the cross. I want my life to be a prism that refracts God's sunlight into brilliant rainbows.
Why would I travel with Jesus? Well, I prayed about having another travel buddy, and talked to quite a few people, but nobody could come.
God, can I still go? "I will be with you," was the impression I received in my heart.
Who could ask for a better travel buddy? Not only did he make me, but he likes spending time with me.
He made the whole world, knows every person on this planet, knows safe & sketchy places, and has keys to unlock any situation or close any doors. He has the best connections and pull everywhere.
So, all in all, I'd say He's the most amazing travel buddy around. And I know there are some really cool angels assigned to the mission as well.
